Eating disorders and body image distortions have been increasing at an alarming rate, especially among adolescents and young adults. A significantly increasing number of women from the age of puberty on are affected. Recognizing and accepting the need for treatment are initial obstacles to overcome. The recovery journey is often complicated and challenging for the individual and for family members. Learning about oneself and learning to care for oneself and one’s body are the major objectives of treatment.
