A Warm Welcome to Dr. Amy Schmid
Amy Schmid, Ph.D., NCSP
Dr. Amy Schmid is a neuropsychologist and nationally certified school psychologist who was trained at Columbia University and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. She has over 15 years of experience helping students with special needs to achieve their potential. In addition to her direct work with children, she developed widely-used tests of intelligence while working as a Research Director at Pearson Clinical Assessments.
Amy has particular expertise assessing children and adolescents with autism, traumatic brain injuries, and other medical conditions affecting neurological development. She also conducts comprehensive psychoeducational and personality assessments, and is available for consultation with parents. Amy utilizes assessment findings to inform educational and intervention planning. She enjoys working with families to help children obtain the services they need, and to create a path to success.
