Center Programs > Art Therapy for Children, Teenagers and Families

We offer art therapy services for children, adolescents and families. Art therapy is a unique, non-threatening approach, that uses art material, images, and discussion to help children heal and to grow. This child-friendly approach to treatment helps both expressive and non-expressive children resolve a wide variety of emotional, behavioral, educational, and social problems.

Art psychotherapy services include:

* Art therapy assessment: for evaluation of cognitive, emotional and social development and adjustment, strengths, needs, diagnostic considerations and recommendations
* Individual art therapy: as both primary and adjunctive treatment for a variety of social, emotional, developmental and academic problems for children 3 to 18
* Family therapy: develops and implements strategies to support and facilitate children’s health and development in the context of the family system
* Social skills groups: promotes social awareness and competence in a highly structured art group. (Meets weekly in 6 week blocks)
